Welcome to the 2022 Brighton & Hove Triathlon

We are very excited to be welcoming to the long-awaited return of the Brighton & Hove Triathlon on Sunday 18th September.

There will be no face-to-face race briefing on the day, so you must read the information provided in this guide carefully. It covers everything you need to know including certain key points which you must understand before the race.

Following the race, your feedback is always very important for us. We can’t wait to hear all about your day and hope you will share your race day experience with us.

There will be no race briefing on the day. It is compulsory to read this briefing document before the race.

Schedule

To avoid delays on race morning, we would ask where possible that you register and collect your race pack on Saturday afternoon between 1pm and 6pm. You will also be able to rack your bike in transition on Saturday afternoon. This will allow you to proceed directly to the start on Sunday morning.

If you are unable to register on Saturday afternoon, please arrive two hours before your transition area closes (see below). If you are late, you will not be allowed into transition. To avoid unnecessary stress on race morning we suggest racking on Saturday afternoon where possible.

Getting to the Race

The event takes place at the Hove Lawns, Kingsway, Hove BN3 2PE.

We recommend arriving in Brighton on Saturday to register and staying overnight to avoid the stress of travelling and parking on race morning.

There is no specific designated parking for the event, but there is on-street parking on the roads in the area. Please visit https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/parking-and-travel/parking/paid-parking-zones-formerly-pay-and-display for details of parking zones and charges. We recommend parking to the West of the event, further from the town centre. You may want to consider parking further away (to the North/West) and cycling from there to the event. You may need to walk or cycle some distance, so plan to arrive early to give yourself plenty time to find a parking space and walk/cycle from your car to the race venue at Hove Lawns.

Please note, the A259 Kingsway will be closed from 6am to 2pm between Wish Road and Western Street.

If arriving after 7:30am on Sunday, please avoid crossing the bike course (the A259 Kingsway) and cross beyond the turn point at Western Street (near the 'Peace Statue').

Site Layout

Spectators

The Brighton & Hove Triathlon is a great event for spectators, and we would like to encourage you to bring your friends and family to watch you race. The location next to the beach is great for the whole family. This year the event will feature an event village with a bar, food, ice-cream and various other vendors and stalls.

Registration

Registration is situated on Hove Lawns and will take place on Saturday 17th September between 1pm and 6pm. For those registering on Saturday afternoon you can either rack your bike and leave it overnight in the secure transition area or rack on Sunday morning. Unlike previous years, we are also allowing registration and racking from 6am on Sunday morning, only for those who are unable to get to Brighton on Saturday, however where possible, please register on Saturday afternoon to minimise queuing and delays on race day.

Once you arrive at the first registration desk, please give your last name and we will check your details. You will then be issued with a numbered wrist band. This must be worn throughout the event and must not be removed until after you have collected your bike from transition at the end of the event. Each wrist band has you race number which will be used to identify you in case of a medical emergency and to collect your kit from transition after the race.

If you are a BTF member you will be asked to show your BTF licence at registration. Since the BTF moved to electronic licences you must sign into your BTF account to access your licence. Please do this before arriving at registration to avoid delays. We suggest taking a screenshot of the licence on your phone or printing a paper copy so you can access it quickly at registration.

If you are not a BTF member you will have purchased a day-licence when you signed up for the event. You will be emailed a copy of this a few days before the event for your information only, but there is no need to bring this to the event.

Once you have received your wrist band, you will be directed to proceed to a specific numbered table to collect your race pack.

The sticker on your registration bag will summarise your details (name, age-grouop, race, etc.). Please check the details are correct when you collect your bag. The sticker on your registration bag will also tell you your start wave number and start time; please remember this so you know which wave to start in.

Your race pack will contain all the essential items for your race. Please take the time to go through it all carefully. It will contain the following: 

Once you have collected your race pack, proceed to the timing chip collection point to collect your numbered timing chip. Please ensure the number on your timing chip corresponds to your race number. As you pass various timing points on the course, this chip will record your times for each leg of the race. You must wear your timing chip around your left ankle. Ensure it is attached securely. Please be aware that not wearing your timing chip, or incorrect use of the chip will mean you will not appear in the results. If you have any timing queries after race day, please email us. The timing chip is your responsibility until you hand it back at the finish line. Due to the costs of the timing technology, there will be a £45 charge if you fail to return your timing chip. If you register on Saturday, don’t forget to bring your timing chip on Sunday morning.

Please note, your finisher t-shirt will be collected after you cross the finish line along with your medal.

Bike Check-in and Pre-Race

Bike check-in will take place on both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Please ensure your bike sticker is on your bike and your helmet is on your head and fastened before arriving at transition check-in. You will enter and leave the transition area via the bike-check gate situated at the western end of the transition area (nearest the registration area).

The transition area is divided into 4 sections which will each close at different times on Sunday morning:

TriStars – closes at 07:30
Sprint – closes at 08:50
Standard – closes at 09:50
Super-Sprint – closes at 11:50

To ensure the transition area is safe and clear for racing, you must leave transition before the closing times listed above. If you are late, you will not be allowed into transition. To avoid unnecessary stress on race morning we suggest racking on Saturday afternoon where possible.

Transition is a secure area, and you will only be allowed to enter if:

Your helmet must be an approved cycling helmet of ANSI Z90.4, SNELLB90, EN 1078 or an equivalent national standard. (NOTE: a CE mark is NOT an approval mark). Any helmet bought in recent years will comply but check for damage which would stop it protecting you properly.

It is your responsibility to bring a bike that is road worthy and complies with the BTF rules (visit www.britishtriathlon.org for more information). Your handlebars must not have open metal ends so please obtain bar ends to plug them before coming to the race. Fixed wheel bikes (bikes that use the pedals as a brake) are not permitted in the race and e-bikes are also not permitted.
You must not use headphones, mobile phones or any other such devices in transition which could be considered a distraction.

Racking is numbered with odd numbers on one side and even numbers on the other. For fairness, age-groups will be grouped together in transition.

Please note, if you signed up in the final two weeks before the race you will be allocated a white number and will not be assigned a numbered rack with others from your age-group. If this is the case, you should rack on the un-numbered racking at the end of the final row in your transition area.

Each numbered space in transition will have one box (measuring 60cm long x 40cm wide x 15cm high). As you follow the flow through transition (from east to west) your box will be the one immediately before your bike position (on the east side of your bike). You must place all your kit in the box. We will be operating a clean transition area which means nothing should be left outside your designated box except for your running shoes (which can be placed neatly in front of your box), and anything attached to your bike (nutrition, etc.).

There will not be a designated baggage area at the event. All your belongings must be placed in your own transition box. Please do not bring more kit than will fit into the box provided.

You will not be able to access transition after the race until the last cyclist in your race is finished the bike. If you plan to buy a food and drink straight after you finish, you might want to consider leaving your wallet with a supporter.

For competitors in the swim only event and aquathlon events, you will find your numbered box along the southern edge of the transition area.

As soon as you have placed your bike and other belongings in transition, and made use of the toilets, you can move to the start beach. You should not wear shoes to the start unless you have a supporter to take them from you before the start. Any shoes discarded at the swim start will be disposed of.

If you wish to get in the water before the start, you can do so at your own risk on the beaches to the west of the swim start beach.

Start Procedure

The sticker on your registration bag will tell you your start wave number and start time. Your swim cap colour will also help to identify your start wave. Age-groups will be grouped together in the same wave to ensure the age-group competition is fair. The start will be a ‘gun start’ from the beach. Your wave will line up along the shoreline and when the race starter sounds the starting signal your time will start.

A table will be placed at the swim exit where you can leave any prescription glasses, inhalers, etc.

'Elite' Waves

The first wave of each distance will include those competing for the overall podium places. The reason for this is to ensure that the first athletes to cross the finish line are the actual overall winners. We will send out an email about 2 weeks before the race asking if you wish to be included in this competitive wave. If you expect to be in the top 10 places overall, you should request to be in this wave. Please note this is only for overall podium places and is not required for competitive age-groupers.

'Mates' Waves

The final wave of each distance will include friends wanting to race together. If both you and your friend(s) are in the same age group then you will be racing together anyway, but if you want to start alongside someone who is NOT in your age-group, then you will BOTH need to request to be included in the mates wave. We will send out an email about 2 weeks before the race asking if you wish to be included in the mates wave.

Wetsuits

We will monitor the water temperature throughout race week. On race day it is expected to be around 17°C but can vary between 15°C and 20°C. Wetsuits are mandatory below 14°C and forbidden above 22°C, so wetsuits will almost certainly be optional in this event. It is recommended that wetsuits are worn by all novices and age-groupers even if the temperature is above 14°C as the wetsuit will not only keep you warm but will also help you swim faster as it provides you with extra buoyancy. Wetsuits cannot exceed 5 mm thickness at any point.

The swim hats provided are compulsory and will help to ensure you start in the correct wave. You may wear socks in the swim only if the water temperature is below 14 °Cso will not be permitted in this event. Please note the exit of the swim will be carpeted to protect your feet from the stones. Gloves are not permitted. We strongly advise you to practice swimming in your wetsuit before the event. Practicing getting out of the wetsuit will help with your transition on the day too. Top tip: baby oil on the wrists and ankles will help with wetsuit removal in transition.

Swim Safety

For many, the swim is the most daunting part of the race, but don't worry! Our water safety team will be there to guide you and help if required. The team, provided by Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club, consists of fully qualified lifeguards in kayaks and rescue boats as well as additional lifeguards on the beach. If this is your first triathlon, or swimming is not your strongest discipline, we recommend you position yourself towards the back at the start. If you do get into difficulty, lie on your back and raise your arm; a lifeguard will come to you and if necessary, arrange a safety boat to take you to the water's edge.

Please do not use backstroke unless you have informed us in advance as this can be easily confused with a swimmer indicating they are in difficulty.

Swim Routes

TriStart (8yrs) 100m - 07:40am

The TriStart race will start approximately 50m to the east of the swim exit. You will swim 50m out to the nearest red buoy and make a right turn (keeping the buoy on your right) and swim 50m back to the swim exit.

TriStar 1 (9 to 10yrs) 200m - 07:50am

The TriStar 1 race will start approximately 50m to the east of the swim exit. You will swim 100m out to the nearest yellow buoy (passing the red TriStart buoy at 50m) and make a right turn (keeping the yellow buoy on your right) and then swim 100m back to the swim exit.

TriStar 2 (11 to 12yrs) 300m - 07:55am

The TriStar 2 race will start approximately 150m to the east of the swim exit. From the start you will bear right to swim diagonally for 200m out to the nearest yellow buoy. You will make a right turn (keeping the yellow buoy on your right) and then swim 100m back to the swim exit.

TriStar 3 (13 to 14yrs) 400m - 08:00am

The TriStar 3 race will start approximately 150m to the east of the swim exit. From the start you will swim 150m directly out to the red buoy. Turn right (keeping the red buoy on your right) and swim for 150m west to the nearest yellow buoy. You will make another right turn (keeping the yellow buoy on your right) and then swim 100m back to the swim exit.

Super-Sprint 400m - from 12:30am

You will start approximately 200m to the west of the swim exit. From the start you will swim 100m directly out to the first yellow buoy. Turn left (keeping the yellow buoy on your left) and swim for 100m to the east to the red buoy. You will make a slight left turn (keeping the red buoy on your left) and swim 100m towards the next yellow buoy. Turn left (again keeping the yellow buoy on your left) for the final 100m back to the swim exit.

Sprint Distance 750m - from 09:00am

You will start approximately 200m to the west of the swim exit. Your route is one lap, anti-clockwise, around a square of yellow buoys. Swim out towards the first yellow buoy which you will pass (keeping the buoy on your left) at 100m. Continue ahead for another 180m to the next yellow buoy where you will make your first turn. Turn left (keeping the yellow buoy on your left) and swim 180m east to the next yellow buoy. Again, turn left (keeping the yellow buoy on your left) to head back to the swim exit. You will pass the final yellow buoy with 100m to go.

Standard Distance 1,500m - from 10:00am

You will start approximately 200m to the west of the swim exit. Your route is two laps, anti-clockwise, around a square of yellow buoys. Swim out towards the first yellow buoy which you will pass (keeping the buoy on your left) at 100m. This marks the first corner of the square. Continue ahead for another 180m to the next yellow buoy where you will make your first turn. Turn left (keeping the yellow buoy on your left) and swim 180m east to the next yellow buoy. Again, turn left (keeping the yellow buoy on your left) to head back to the swim exit. 100m from the beach you will reach the final yellow buoy of the square. At this point, some competitors will be on their second lap and will be continuing ahead to the swim exit, however on your first lap do not follow them but instead turn left (keeping the yellow buoy on your left) to head west, back towards the first buoy where you will turn left again to start you next lap. When you reach the final yellow buoy on your second lap you will continue ahead for the final 100m to the swim exit.

Swim Exit

Volunteers will be on hand to guide you out of the water. Once you have exited the water you will need to make your way on foot to the transition area. The beach will be carpeted. You may pull your wetsuit down to your waist as you make your way to transition, however you may not remove your wetsuit completely until you reach your spot in transition.

1,500 Swim

For competitors in the swim only event, your race time will stop as you cross the timing mat at the swim exit. After finishing you can make your way to the finish line to collect your medal and t-shirt.

Swim Cancellation

In the unlikely event the swim is cancelled, the swim portion will be replaced with a run. The distance of this run will be half of your triathlon run distance (i.e. 1.25km for super-sprint, 2.5km for the sprint and 5km for the standard distance) and will follow the run routes outlined below (half the number of laps you will complete on your final run).

Transition 1: Swim to Bike

You will leave the beach and cross the prom directly into the transition area. Depending on your race distance you will run along the southern edge of the transition area until you reach your section within transition. Turn right and then left into your row where your bike is racked. Place your wetsuit and all other swim kit in your box. Failing to place all kit in your box will result in a penalty. You must put your helmet on and ensure it is done up before taking your bike. Only after your helmet is securely in place should you then take your bike and push it out of the transition area to the mount point on the road. Having taken your bike continue in the same direction along your row and then turn right to the northern edge of the transition area where you will then turn left to head west to the bike exit. Do not mount your bike until you have crossed the mount line.

Aquathlon

For those competing in the aquathlon (swim, run) events; having completed the swim, go to your box on the southern edge of the transition area and remove your wetsuit and put on your running shoes. Continue along the southern edge of the transition area directly to the run out exit.

Relay Teams

Relay exchanges will take place at your designated racking position in the transition area. Your timing chip is your 'baton' and must be exchanged between competitors. The cyclist must wait next to their bike in transition with their helmet off. The cyclist should be wearing their race number on their back and can have all cycling clothing on with the exception of their helmet. The swimmer must first hand over the timing chip which must be attached to the cyclist's left ankle. Only when this is complete can the cyclist take their helmet and put it on before taking their bike and pushing it out of the transition area to the mount point on the road.

Cycle

The cycle route for all adult races is a simple 5km loop up and down the seafront. As you mount you will be heading west. When mounting please be aware of cyclists passing fast on your right who will be on their subsequent laps. At the western end of the course, you will make a tight right 180-degree turn. You will head east past the Hove Lawns and then make your second 180-degree right turn. Heading east again you will approach the dismount line; if you are continuing onto another lap keep right and be aware of athletes slowing to dismount on your left. If you are at the end of your last lap keep left and slow as you approach the dismount line.

For TriStart there will be a single 1.5km lap, for TriStar 1 and TriStar 2 there will be a single 4km lap, and for TriStar 3 the will be two 4km laps.

IMPORTANT:
This is an ‘out and back’ bike route. This means that competitors will be heading in both directions along the entire route. We do not want to see any head on collisions, so for this reason it is critical that you do not cross the centre line at any point during the bike route.

THE PENATY FOR CROSSING THE CENTRE LINE WILL BE DISQUALIFICATION

NO BLOCKING:
Unless overtaking, please keep to the left to allow other competitors to overtake you without them needing to cross the centre line. This includes the U-turns at each end of the route where you should take a wide line to allow faster competitors to pass on your inside.

Emergency Procedures

Motorcycle marshals will be out on the course. You must always follow their instructions. In the event of an accident or other emergency they may ask you to slow down or even stop.

Pedestrians & Crossings

The entire route is closed to traffic. Pedestrians will be encouraged to only cross at designated and marshalled crossing points, however, please remain vigilant for the possibility of pedestrians wandering across the road at all times.

You do NOT need to stop at red traffic lights as the road is closed, but please take extra care at pelican crossings, especially if the lights do turn red.

Laps

It is your responsibility to count your own laps. We will not be able to tell you how many laps you have done during the event. We will have a timing point to count your laps so we will know after the race if you have done too few laps, and failiure to complete the course will result in disqualification.

Drafting

Drafting (taking shelter behind or beside another competitor) during the cycling leg of the race, is not allowed. The cycle draft zone will be 10 metres long measured from the leading edge of the front wheel. You may not enter the draft zone of another competitor except for the purpose of overtaking. When overtaking you must be seen to be progressing through that zone. A maximum of 20 seconds is allowed to pass through the draft zone of another competitor. If an overtaking manoeuvre is not completed within 20 seconds the overtaking cyclist must drop back. When a competitor is passed by other competitors, it is his/her responsibility to drop back to move out of the draft zone of the overtaking competitor. Failure to do so may result in an official caution or time penalty. A competitor is passed when another competitor’s front wheel is ahead of his/her front wheel. Motorcycle and static BTF referees will patrol the course to enforce the no drafting rule.

Competitors must keep to the left side of the course and not create a blocking incident. Blocking is where a competitor who is behind cannot pass due to the leading competitor being poorly placed on the course.

Always cycle on the left-hand side and beware of competitors overtaking you on the right. Please pay attention to the marshals’ instructions. It is your responsibility to count your own laps.

No Littering

Dropping litter on any point of the course will result in disqualification.

Transition 2: Bike to Run

Having dismounted your bike before the dismount line, you will run with your bike into transition. Run along the north edge of the transition area until you reach your section within transition where you will turn left and then right into your row. Run to your position in the transition area and rack your bike. Only after your bike is racked can you remove your helmet. Do not unclip your helmet until your bike is racked, doing so will result in a penalty. Remove your helmet and put on your run shoes. Make sure your helmet and any other kit is placed in your box (failing to place all kit in your box will result in a penalty). You will then continue to run along your row in the same direction. At the end of your row turn left to the southern edge of the transition area and then turn right to the 'run out' exit.

Run

The 2.5km run lap consists of various out and back sections along the seafront. You will always be running in an anti-clockwise direction, always passing to the right of oncoming runners. Keep right and overtake to the left (taking care to avoid oncoming runners).

TriStars Run

TriStars will complete various shorter laps as follows: TriStart will complete one lap of 600m, TriStar 1 will complete one lap of 1.2km, TriStar 2 will complete two laps of 900m (total 1.8km) and TriStar 3 will complete two laps of 1.2km (total 2.4km). It is very important that TriStar 2 and TriStar 3 competitors know about the split point for ‘next lap’ and ‘finish’ as outlined below.

TriStar 1: 1.2km

TriStar 3: 2.4km (2 laps)

Pedestrians & Crossings

Pedestrians will be encouraged to only cross at designated and marshalled crossing points, however, please remain vigilant for the possibility of pedestrians wandering across the run course at all times.

We will have a timing point to count your laps so we will know after the race if you have done too few laps, and failiure to complete the course will result in disqualification.

Next Lap / Finish Split

As you approach the finish of a lap you will make a right turn off the main promenade into the Hove Lawns. At this point the route will split. If you have another lap to complete, you must keep left and continue along the path to the northern edge of the lawns where you will then turn right for a short out-and-back section on the grass. If you are finishing you last lap, you must keep right at the split point and turn onto the grass directly towards the finish line.

Run Aid Station

On the run route there will be an aid station as you leave transition to start the run. You will pass this aid station at the start of every lap (every 2.5km). The aid station will be fully stocked with water, HIGH5 Energy Drink and HIGH5 gels.

Finish and Post Race

Once you have crossed the finish line, you will be presented with your medal and t-shirt. There will be water and HIGH5 Energy Drink available. Once the last cyclist in your race has finished the bike leg, you will be allowed to return to transition to retrieve your bike and other kit and belongings. We want to create an amazing atmosphere for all our finishers so please stay around the finish area after your race.

T-Shirt Collection

You will collect your t-shirt and medal immediately after you have finished. Your race number will have your requested t-shirt size printed on the front. Please show your race number at the t-shirt collection point. To collect your t-shirt, you must hand over your timing chip in exchange for the t-shirt.

Post-Race Food and Drinks

We will have a bar and food vendors on site serving alcohol, pizza, fish & chips, ice-cream and more. Please stay after the race and enjoy a social lunch on the Hove Lawns.

Results and Awards

As you cross the finish line, your name, time, overall position and age-group position will be displayed on the finish gantry. We have awards for the top three male and female finishers in every 5-year age-group. That's almost 250 awards!

Awards will be presented as soon after the third-place finisher in each category has finished. Where possible, you should check your finishing position via the live results on our website. If you believe you have finished in the top 3 in your age group, please wait at the podium area where you will be presented with your award.

Bike Collection

Bike collection will be from the eastern end of the transition area (furthest from the finish line). The number on your wrist band will be checked against the number on your bike sticker.

The transition area is divided into 4 sections. Only when the last cyclist in your area has finished the bike leg, will you will be allowed into transition to retrieve your bike and other kit. Approximate times are shown below:

TriStars – bike collection from about 09:00
Sprint – bike collection from about 11:30
Standard – bike collection from about 13:30
Super-Sprint – bike collection from about 13:30

Key Rules

The race is governed by BTF rules and regulations and BTF Technical Officials will be in attendance on race day so please ensure you read and are familiar with them. You can find them on the British Triathlon website: www.britishtriathlon.org

Penalties

Any penalties and DQ's will be posted on a notice board located adjacent to the race control tent near the finish line. Any live results published during the event are provisional only.

Medical Considerations

Our event medical team, East Sussex Medical Event Services, will be on standby for any first aid or medical treatment. Their main treatment facility will be located near the finish line and medical teams will be stationed or mobile at various places on the course.

Medical Advice - You should discuss any medical problems with your GP before competing in the triathlon. This advice is in addition to anything he or she says.

Cardiac Assessment and Screening - If you have a family history of heart disease or sudden death or have any symptoms of possible heart disease, i.e., chest pain during exercise, sudden shortness of breath, or rapid palpitations, you should see your GP who can arrange for you to have a proper cardiac assessment.

On the Day - Do not compete if you feel unwell or have recently been unwell. If you feel feverish, have had diarrhoea or been vomiting or had any chest pains DO NOT RACE! Many medical emergencies occur because people who have been unwell but do not want to miss the event.

Hydration - Drinking a sensible fluid intake is necessary for a triathlon. Your thirst is the best and safest guide to how much to drink during the event. You should start the race adequately hydrated and then drink small amounts as your thirst dictates. Avoid drinking too much fluid before, during or after the race, as it is also possible to get ill from drinking too much fluid.

FAQ's

Are there changing facilities & showers?
There are no changing facilities, or showers. We recommend you arrive ready to race and bring some warm clothes for afterwards.

What do we do with lost property?
Please hand any items found to the help desk. We will hold onto any lost property for one month after the race. If you have lost an item of your property, please email us at office@tribourne.co.uk

Can I buy photographs?
Finish line photographs will be available to purchase directly from our official photographers, https://www.mysportphotos.co.uk. A link will be emailed to all participants after the race.

I have a disability; can I still participate?

What is the British Triathlon Federation (BTF) day membership for?
The BTF day license is a license for racing and covers your public liability insurance for the day. For further information on race licenses please contact the BTF directly www.britishtriathlon.org. If you are not a member of the BTF you will have purchased a day licence along with your entry registration.

I am unable to race; can I have a refund or transfer my place to next year?
Unfortunately, due to our very tight budget and the impact that deferrals would have on our financial position next year, we can’t offer a refund or deferral within the last 4 weeks before the race.

Can I use tribars on my bike?
Yes, tribars are allowed. Tribars and handlebar ends must be plugged, and they must be secure. Unlike draft legal races, there is no requirement for them to be shorter than the brake levers.

Is the race draft legal?
No. Drafting is against the rules. See the drafting section earlier in this document.

How can I find out my finish time?
Live results will be posted on our website during the race.

I still have my timing chip; how do I return it?
Please post your timing chip back to us at: TriBourne Multisport Events Ltd., 37 Hill Road, Eastbourne, BN20 8SN. If we do not receive this, you will be liable for the £45 cost of the chip.

Do you need volunteers?
We need lots of volunteers to help make this a great event. If any of your friends or family are interested in being part of this major sporting event, please ask them to email volunteers@tribourne.co.uk

Are there any toilets?
Yes, there will be toilets within transition and the event village on the Hove Lawns.

Are drinks provided?
Yes, there will be an aid station on the run and at the finish line.

What are the rules?
The race is governed by BTF rules and regulations and BTF Technical Officials will be in attendance on race day so please ensure you read and ensure you are familiar with them. You can find them on the British Triathlon website: www.britishtriathlon.org
